I’m vexed, sober and dismayed. The pride of our nation is sinking and everyone is busy with one thing or the other. The agricultural sector seem to be pressurized thus not yielding much, the education system is below standard due to negligence and preferential treatment.
My concern is the Nigeria education system as education remains the best legacy, it is so depressing to know that jobs ain’t available for graduates, qualification and educational background isn’t a criteria for getting a job in this part of the world as nepotism has eaten deep into the system which has resulted in an unyielding and substandard society. Cuba is a country that fascinates me about what they have to offer in terms of education, of which her government allocates 13% of its highest national budget to education, education is compulsory for children from the ages of 6 to 16,education is 100% subsidised meaning that the Cuban students can attend school for free at all levels, Cuba runs a cost free health service and can boast of world class doctors.
Where are we going in Nigeria?
What do we have to offer to the unborn generation?
The world awaits our contribution..
Whether the government has failed us or not, it is time to contribute our quota to the nation’s development.
Irrespective of the degree obtained, get educated, get equipped, do not take schooling for education because they are two different things.
I hope for a better Nigeria.
