One Year Anniversary!

That’s right people! Conversehouse is one year old this month and I’m pretty excited. So this is going to be more of appreciation and reminiscence kind of post.

It’s so funny how time goes by so fast, didn’t realize it’s a year already until few days ago when a friend pointed it out, it’s also so amazing how incredible things are born from the least expected situations. I’d usually write every once in a while but I never thought I’d actually start a blog and come through with it. I’ve learnt a lot in the past year and I’m so grateful. Sharing some of the things I’ve learnt so far-

  • Growth is key- They say you can’t give what you don’t have and I couldn’t agree more. Conversehouse challenges me to be a better person and learn from everything and anything. If I make no conscious effort to build myself, I’d really never have anything to write about.
  • Life is learning- In a bid to help others through my writings, I’ve learnt to be more observant about the things going on around me, I could literally just be walking down the street and a little stone I stumble upon gives me some sort of motivation or the other. I’ve learnt to learn from anything and everything, no matter how inconspicuous it may seemingly be, no matter how glaring it may be, I’ve come to understand there’s something to learn everywhere.
  • Perfection is not a requirement – I’ve come to understand that in other to help someone I do not have to be perfect myself, I once read somewhere that talking to people about your strengths and all help motivate them but sharing your weakness and downfalls as well help them connect better with your message. Each and every time I write anything, I do it not just for others but I know I’m also writing to myself in each and every post and can come back to read whenever I need them. I’m no where near perfect, no way as consistent as I’d like to be, heck, I’ve had like a thousand hiatuses but nonetheless, knowing I can do something with each tiny efforts motivates me to do more.
  • Community is key- Honestly I cannot overemphasize how having the right set of people around me has helped and shaped me. The right circle gives motivation, consistency, determination and I couldn’t be more grateful.

“None of us got to where we are alone. Whether the assistance we received was obvious or subtle, acknowledging someone’s help is a big part of understanding the importance of saying thank you” – Harvey Markay.

I’m surrounded with really awesome people in my life and I do not take that for granted. Thank you to Oluwafemi, Ademola Elizabeth, Albert Chibuzor, Emmanuel Taiwo, Akindele Ezekiel, Sanni Oluwatobi, Ahisu Mitchel, Emmanuel Agwu, Olasupo Joseph, Elijah Walker, Temitope Durotoye, y’all have been very supportive, have built conversehouse in one way or another and I’m so grateful. For every kind comment, every word of encouragement, each is deeply appreciated and frankly this list of names could go on and on and here’s a big thank you to everyone.

Even as I send links and messages to my contacts everyday, not one person has asked me to stop (well, except one guy) and when just I feel like I don’t want to anymore or I don’t have anything to give, someone tells me how important and helpful those messages are and that keeps me going. That’s what I live for, even if it’s just one person that reads my post and learns something from it or is motivated, then honestly is more than enough.

Believe me when I say conversehouse is just getting started and you all would get to see the big picture and even the meaning behind the name itself all in due time, I promise so stay with me.
