Self discovery- The Why

Holla! It’s the final part of the Self discovery series, if you haven’t yet, do check out the last two : Self discovery- The WHAT? and Self Discovery – The How . Next is why self discovery? why go through all this process just to know who you are? why not just live life as it is as we only live once isn’t it? Why find a path when you can just go along with whichever finds you? (trust me, if you don’t find one, one would find you).  I do not think this should be a troubling issue but all the same, wouldn’t hurt to give a reminder on why self discovery is important.

  • Gives you purpose : Self discovery gives you a better understanding of who you are, it helps you understand why you do things the way you do and how to put that into use in walking on your path.
  • Helps others : Self discovery isn’t in anyway a selfish process. In discovering who you are, it helps you relate better with other people. Helps to focus on your strengths to help those around you, helps you understand situations you handle well and those you’d need to avoid. It generally builds relationships.
  • Peace : It feels good to know who you are to understand what you can and can’t do and knowing what you’re willing to do to keep growing.
  • Adventure : It’s an interesting process, one that chases you out of your comfort zone. A wondrous adventure with challenges.

The most important relationship we can all have is the ine with yourself, the most important journey you can take is one of self-discovery. To know yourself, you must spend time with yourself, you must not be afraid to be alone” – Aristotle

I truly hope this series would be of help to someone out there and just help you truly discover who you are. Thanks for sticking by. Do well to share and comment your thoughts.
