We all face temptation every single day of our lives, why some people overcome it all and some fall at a time and rise again but sadly some lost their faith in Jesus Christ and lost their life why facing temptation.

I know someone can testify to this as relate to his/her experiences. The good news is that God Almighty has made a way of escape for us through His son Jesus Christ.

As a child of God, you can consider temptation as a compliment because satan does not have to tempt those who are already doing his evil will, they are already his.

Temptation is a sign that satan hates you. Temptation is not a sign of weakness or worldliness. Like I said God has made a way out for us His children through Jesus Christ our Lord, all you need to do is to ask for His help today.

Let’s see what the Bible says about temptation in First Corinthians chapter 10 verses 12-13(NLT)

v12 “If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall.”
(You must stand on the rock of ages which is Jesus Christ only if you don’t want to fall and fail.)

v13 “The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.”
‭‭
Please note:- Self confident and self will cannot do it, you have to cultivate God- confidence and trust in Him, always remember God is ever faithful. He has made a way of escape for you and me, He will helps us to endure till the very end where we obtain our crown of glory.

1 Peter chapter 5 verse 8(NKJV)

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” he(devil) does not want you as a child of God stands in faith, he want you to fall and fail, so you have to be careful. As a child of God the closer you grow in Faith and moving closer to God everyday the more satan will try to tempt you.

All temptation follows the same pattern( please read 2 Corinthian 2 vs 11

From the Bible we learn that temptation follows a four-step process which satan used for Adam and Even, he used it for Jesus Christ and he still using it till date. (Please read Mark 7 vs 21-23.)

STEP 1 ( DESIRE )

Satan identity a desire in you and works on that to tempt you. This may be a sinful desire, desire to get revenge or to control others or it may be a legitimate or normal desire, like desire to be loved and valued, to feel pleasure.
Temptation starts when satan suggests ( with a thought in your mind).
Always be careful of a short cuts, they are often a temptation.
Please read Mark 7 vs 21-23 &
James 4 vs 1

‭‭STEP 2 UNBELIEVED/ DOUBT

Satan tries to get you to doubt what God has said about you or about sin and will try to twist the word of God just for you to doubt God and fall into sin. Heb 3 vs 12

STEP 3 DECEPTION

You finally acts on the thought you’ve been toying with in your mind, remember as a man thinks so is he. Do guild your heart with all diligence from out of it spring out the issue of life. Feed your heart with the word of God, when satan shows up with his deceptive lies you can counter it with the word of God and do hold on unto what you believed.
Prob 4 vs 23
James 1 vs 14-16 & 22.

Friends, ask yourself the following question, they will help you in this journey of overcoming temptation

  1. When am I most tempted?
  2.  What day of the week and time am I most tempted?
  3.  where am I most tempted? E.g at work, at home, in a friend house or when am outside town etc?
  4. Who is with me when am most tempted? E.g my friends, colleagues, strangers, or when I’m all alone?
  5.  How do I usually feel when I am most tempted?
Is it when you are happy, tired, lonely, bored, depressed, or under stress or hurt, angry, worry or after a huge success??

This is my encouragement, identify your typical pattern of temptation and prepare to avoid those situations (stop seeing that friend, or don’t go for lunch break with that colleague of yours anymore and have a accountability partner).Pray for God’s help always He’s always there to help.

I’m conclusion, the only ready made way out of temptation is in JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD.

If you have not given your life to Jesus Christ, you can invite him into your life today and He will stay with you forever as He has said “I will not leave you or forsake you”

Please says this prayer:-
LORD JESUS CHRIST COME IN INTO MY LIFE TODAY, I CONFESS YOU AS MY LORD AND SAVIOR, I CONFESS ALL MY SINS AND PROMISE NOT TO GO BACK TO THEM, COME IN INTO MY LIFE AND MAKE MY HEART YOU HOME, AND ACCEPT ME AS YOU CHILD. IN JESUS NAME (AMEN)
